The story goes back to 1934, when the Reizer brothers started a small fruit processing plant in Koprivnica, a modest town in northern Croatia. The name Podravka came later, in 1947, named after the Podravina region the brand still calls home. But the moment that really defined the company came in 1959, when a food technologist named Zlata Bartl put together a blend of salt, dried vegetables, and spices that nobody had quite managed before. That blend became Vegeta, and if you've ever cooked with it, you already know what the fuss is about.
